According to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs, Leicester City will have ‘100%’ used the international break to look for potential replacements for Brendan Rodgers at the King Power Stadium.
The Foxes have had a difficult start to the season, sitting bottom of the Premier League without a win.
The former Liverpool manager is said to be skating on ‘very thin ice’ in the East Midlands.
After his team was thrashed 6-2 by Antonio Conte’s Tottenham, the 49-year-old said he was feeling the pressure.
However, Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth earlier told, that Leicester cannot afford to fire Rodgers owing of financial constraints.
The Foxes would apparently have to spend £10 million to fire their manager, which is difficult to justify following a revenue loss of around £120 million.
Jacobs believes Leicester will have used the international break not only to undertake lengthy talks with Rodgers but also to scout potential successors.
The CBS reporter told GIVEMESPORT: “Leicester will have 100%, as I understand it, used the international break to, not only hold lengthy meetings with Rodgers, but also look at other options.
“Rodgers is well aware, he’s been in football for long enough, that this is normal that if he is to go, Leicester would have already started that process of seeing who’s out there, and who is interested.”
According to The Sun, Brentford manager Thomas Frank is the leading candidate to replace Rodgers as head coach if he is fired.
The article says that luring the Dane away from west London may be difficult given that he only signed a contract extension until 2025 in January.
Meanwhile, former player Darren Ambrose has advised the team to aim for the stars, stating that the Foxes should pursue Mauricio Pochettino.
Ambrose called the former PSG manager a “match made in heaven” for Leicester.
Head coach problems everywhere
Rochester New York FC, led by Jamie Vardy, may have to fight to keep head coach Bruno Baltazar.
Vardy, Leicester City striker, is a co-owner of the American soccer club after purchasing a minority stake in 2021.
Rochester relaunched as part of their professional football comeback, and they defied the odds to reach the MLS Next Pro play-offs.
Baltazar was named head coach in December, having previously coached at Nottingham Forest and managed Estoril, APOEL, and Casa Pia. The Portuguese have coached 28 games, winning 16 of them.
However, following last month’s play-off defeat to Columbus Crew, Baltazar has been linked with the vacant manager job at Championship side Hull City.
